(UNDATED) - As the Democratic presidential hopefuls bombard Indiana with visits, the Republicans are sitting back and waiting.

Jay Kenworthy with the state GOP says senator John McCain has the nomination locked up and can return to focusing on his work on Capitol Hill.

Kenworthy says he still expects the state to go red in November and vote McCain into the White House.

As for the rumors of a possible vice presidential run for Indiana Senator/Former Governor Evan Bayh, Kenworthy says Bayh has flip-flopped on many issues and lost touch with what Hoosiers care about these days. Hillary Clinton supporters have asked Bayh if he'd consider a VP run if asked.
