(GREENFIELD) - Controversy is swirling around the race for Hancock County council.

Two Republican candidates are being challenged by their own party for "not being Republican enough."

Tom Lake and Ted Cecil are both running for at-large seats in the May primary. But both ran in 2006 as Democrats.

Hancock County GOP Chair John Willey says the pair is not in good standing with the party.
