(EVANSVILLE) - The groundwork has been laid—and all of the final preparations are now being put into place for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s visit to Evansville later tonight.

Vanderburgh Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dave Wedding says local law enforcement agencies have been planning alongside federal officials since the campaign chose the Southwestern Indiana city.

Wedding adds that the sheriff's department will work with Evansville police and the Indiana State Police to guarantee the safety of Clinton while she is in town.

Clinton's rally begins at 7:00pm in the Harrison High School gymnasium. Gym doors will open for the event at 5:45pm with seating provided on a first come, first served basis.
