(LOGANSPORT) - Cass County joins Tippecanoe and Wayne Counties as the newest county to use voting centers.
Cass County will start using the pilot system for the May 6th primary and the November election. Secretary of State Todd Rokita says he wants to bring a voting center proposal to the General Assembly in 2009.
Rokita says the program, which allows folks to vote anywhere in their area, keeps up with the 21st century and people's busy schedules.
Rokita also says this will save taxpayer money, by shrinking the number of polling places.
Richmond and Lafayette have both seen success from the voting centers and Marion County is also interested in the idea.
