Hoosier Grauation Rate On The Rise

(UNDATED) - A new study says Hoosier high school seniors are slightly more likely than students from other states to graduate.
The 2008 diplomas count report claims 73.6% of the Indiana class of 2005 earned their diplomas -- about 3% more than the national average.
Study Director Christopher Swanson says researchers used a new method to determine grad rates. The Cumulative Promotion Index (CPI) tracks enrollment and graduation numbers, rather than the number of dropouts.
Indiana ranks 24th among all 50 states and Washington D.C. New Jersey boasts the highest grad rate at 83.3%. Nevada is last at 45.4%.
