(INDIANAPOLIS) - A large get-together was held at Conseco Fieldhouse to celebrate the end of the school year and an intensive mentoring program.

The Junior Achievement Mentoring Program pairs underprivileged juniors and seniors with mentors from around the community.

Director Trecia Holloway says the mentors help kids with their school work and assist with college research and where to look for things like scholarships and financial aid. Holloway says the program keeps kids on the right track and away from the streets and violence.

Dai Vong is a senior at Broad Ripple High School and says he is thankful to have been a part of the program. Vong received a full, four-year scholarship to Purdue to study pharmacy.
