Purdue University Students Think Soy

(WEST LAFAYETTE ) - Some Purdue University students are finding creative ways to use soy.
Five teams are participating in the 13th annual soybean product innovation competition by entering products ranging from after-sun lotion to liqueur.
Purdue student A.J. Boeh helped design biodegradable soy pigeons as a way to make the trap and skeet industry more environmentally friendly. Fellow teammate David Conway says they began work on the project in September.
Other teams entered products including soy-based hybrid fuel and soy ice cream waffle bowls.
The Indiana Soybean Alliance holds the challenge each year, encouraging students to create potentially commercial products. The teams can win up to $7,500 for the innovations.
