Teachers Unhappy With Contract Negotiations

(MARION) - The Marion Teachers Association is unhappy with an offer made by the school board’s attorney in recent contract talks.
An e-mail alerted MTA members that the board wanted to, "gut your insurance," and "line the pockets of their insurance consultant instead of paying you a living salary."
Although details aren't available, the proposal's biggest issues are contract language and health insurance.
The next step in negotiations is setting another mediation date, which will likely be sometime in April.
