School Operating Costs Covered By New Bill

(STATEHOUSE) - A senate committee has cleared legislation that would pay for basic school operating costs including teacher salaries, supplies and utilities.
The bill also would shift the cost of services for abused and neglected children from the property levy to the state budget.
The legislation is part of a package of bills aimed at cutting property taxes.
