(EVANSVILLE) - Community forums are planned on big changes being proposed in the Evansville school corporation.

The series of 20 public forums run through February 7th. Plans include building a new high school and closing two elementary schools as well as different ways of handling alternative education and changing some schools from K-5 to K-8, but leaving others as they are.

School Spokeswoman Marsha Jackson says the meetings will include a full-blown presentation of the plans. Bertram will present the plan to the school board for consideration in February, following the forums.

The first meeting is planned tonight at Reitz High School.
