Children's Museum Features Exhibits And Shows On MLK Day

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Children’ Museum in Indianapolis is working to make this Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day a day “on” for kids and families out of school and work.
The museum is offering free admission from 10:00am to 5:00pm with several activities, programs, and presentations.
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute Youth Theater Ensemble will present 3 shows of the children's civil rights movement. Each show will be preceded by a "mock march" through the museum to the Lilly Theater. Participants will enjoy discussion forums, games, and a virtual tour of Dr. King's childhood home.
All of the museum exhibits will be open to the public with a special emphasis on the new "Power of Children" exhibit, featuring Ruby Bridges, Ryan White, and Ann Frank.
Programs developer Portia Sholar-Jackson says the museum is committed to engaging children and families in ways to understand how they can make a difference in their communities and the world.
