(EVANSVILLE) - A new high school and middle school and the closing of two schools. That’s the highlights of a strategic plan from the new Evansville community school superintendent.

Vincent Bertrim outlined the plan to the school board Monday night. Howard Roosa and Cedar Hall Elementary Schools will close and those students shifted to reorganized K through eight buildings.

Bertrim also plans to introduce a pre-school program that he hopes will make Evansville the leader in early childhood education.

Bertrim also that new 'school models'... including early college are a possibility in a city that has three universities offering support.

Bertrim says he anticipates no increase in taxes to pay for the building of a new school.
