Lilly Endowment To Help Expand IU Music And Law Schools
(BLOOMINGTON) - The Lilly Endowment is giving 69 million dollars to Indiana University for the music and law schools.
The Jacobs School of Music will get 44 million dollars to build a new studio facility for both faculty and students. School officials plan to complete the project in 2010, saying the facility will help the music school be even more competitive with other institutions like the Juilliard school.
The 25 million dollar gift to the school of law is expected to allow the IU to attract and retain more professors and other legal scholars.
