Purdue Tests Campus Alert System

(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue University plans to test a new campus-wide alarm system today.
The campus alert system adds voice warnings to sirens that have been in place for years. It will tell people on campus what the emergency is and what action to take.
University officials are considering purchasing the voice alarms to augment other warning systems.
Purdue added text messages and e-mails to its emergency notification system earlier this year.
