IU Medical School Receives Grant To Combat AIDs In Africa
(INDIANAPOLIS) - A partnership involving the Indiana University School of Medicine has received a five-year, 60 million dollar federal grant toward a program to fight aids in Kenya.
Officials say the grant gives the program developed by IU and a Kenyan medical school the ability to treat thousands more patients.
The program currently cares for about 52-thousand HIV-infected patients at 19 facilities in the African nation.
