Purdue Emergency Notification System A Success, Says Director
(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue is calling its emergency text and e-mail notification test a success.
Executive Director of Information Technology Networks and Security Scott Ksander says it took less than seven minutes to send text messages to nearly ten-thousand students, faculty and staff.
He says nearly 57-thousand emails were sent within the same time frame. The test received more than 28 responses in ten minutes.
Ksander says the aim was to gather information that will help the university establish a reliable e-mail and text warning system in the case of a real emergency.
