(VINCENNES) - In about two weeks Vincennes University will break ground on the State Center For Applied Technology that will offer training programs to business and industry partners throughout the state.

Vincennes University President Richard Helton recently told "Inside Indiana Business" that the school is focused on career and technical advancement and that it wants to take that expertise statewide.

The university is also building two new centers for advanced manufacturing in Gibson County and on its Jasper campus that will offer high school and non-traditional students a chance at advanced manufacturing opportunities and training.

Helton says the school is involved in workforce development and wants to train a qualified workforce.
