IU Group Says Latino Students Need More Help

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Center for Evaluation and Education Policy at Indiana University Bloomington, in a report, indicated the state of Indiana needs to do more to address the huge growth of Latino Hoosiers who are learning English as their second language.
The CEEP's report says Latino students, and other students they refer to as "English language learners," are often segregated and marginalized in Indiana schools.
As one solution, the report suggests better training for school staff, and more literacy development for students.
