(BEDFORD) - Indiana State University and the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council announced a new educational and economic development partnership yesterday.
Ten years ago, Indiana State University started administering for the Lawrence County Sycamore Initiative. Officials from both organizations said the new initiative is aimed at diversifying the economy of south-central Indiana to meet challenges of the twenty-first century.
The initiative will focus on three main goals: the development of a certified technology park, build on strengths of the Community Learning Center of Lawrence County to offer more in the area of entrepreneurship, and to develop an more aggressive relations strategy with the federal government.
