NL Elementary Schools To be Completed By First Day Of School
(BEDFORD) - In just a few weeks, school children from across North Lawrence County will be heading back to school.
Maintenance Director Steve Ritter says the three elementary schools they have been working on this summer are nearly complete. He says new playground equipment will be going up at Heltonville and Fayetteville with paving to be added to the Fayetteville school.
At Springville, minor details are left including erecting electrical poles in the parking lot. New furniture has been added to the school as well.
Meanwhile, board member Wendell Nikirk, who represents the Fayetteville area, was upset with what he called "the mess" at the front entrance of the new school. A mound of dirt is blocking the view of the $4-million school from the road. He wants residents to be able to see the facility without having to look over the mound of dirt.
