Letterman Honored With Media Building Title
(MUNCIE) - The Ball State University board of trustees held a special public meeting in Indianapolis to approve the naming of the new communications and media building after its most beloved alumnus.
The "Letterman" Communications and Media Building will officially be dedicated September 7th. BSU President Doctor Jo Ann Gora says it is fitting for the university to honor a man who has given so much back to his alma mater. Letterman is credited with co-creating the student-run radio station, WCRD, with then faculty member Dave Wible.
The 1970 graduate also sponsors 3 annual scholarships for telecommunications students since 1985.
Letterman's mom, Dorothy Mengering, attended the trustees meeting. She describes her son as a "very special young man" of whom she is very proud.
Letterman and his mother will be in attendance for the September 7th dedication.
