Indiana Teachers Need More Classroom Preparation

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana education roundtable got an earful about bettering teacher education.
Coming the same week as several Indianapolis public schools went back early because of low test scores, the rountable heard from education expert Arthur Levine.
Levine says while Indiana does have a good system in place, in terms of preparing teachers for the classroom, but more could be done.
Levine says teacher education needs to be more about the outcome and less about training.
Levine says, while training can't prepare you for everything, it certainly can be increased to "bring the floor up," in terms of student achievement.
