(BATESVILLE) - Ivy Tech President-Elect Tom Snyder wants more people to be aware of the state’s second-largest higher-learning institution.

Snyder has visited Ivy Tech campuses in Batesville, Madison and Lawrenceburg this week as he tours the school's branches before taking office.

In Batesville, city leaders encouraged Snyder to speed up construction on an Ivy Tech building for which the city has donated 17 acres.

Snyder says he wants to grow the Ivy Tech system through networking, and increase outreach to rural students to get them thinking about going to college.
