(INDIANAPOLIS) - A major announcement Thursday from Purdue University.
City and university officials unveiled plans for the "Purdue Accelerator Park," a multi use industrial park that will be located near Indianapolis International Airport.
This is the fourth park that will connect Purdue to other parts of the state.
The goal is to create 1500 new, high paying jobs, by romancing companies that specialize in frontier technology. The industrial complex will be able to house up to 75 new companies, as well as a hotel/convention center complex and restaurants and shops.
Purdue President Martin Jischke says the location is perfect, located just minutes from Downtown Indianapolis and right across from the airport.
Purdue already has research parks in New Albany, West Lafayette, and Merrillville.
