(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Tuition at Purdue is going up.

The board of trustees has approved a 4.5% hike in each of the next two school years. That translates into a $320 increase this fall for most in-state students on the West Lafayette campus.

Purdue student government president Eric Van Houten says most don't like paying more for a Purdue education. But he says students will benefit from the hike because some of the money will likely go toward student activities. Van Houten says faculty salaries have to go up, so Purdue can attract and keep talented professors.
