List For A New I.U. Povost Narrowing
(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University is moving closer toward naming a new provost to replace president-elect Michael McRobbie.
The provost search committee met this week with faculty, staff, and students in Bloomington, hoping to narrow its list of potential candidates from 25 to two or three.
Law professor Fred Cate chairs the committee. He says about 30 people attended the forum to ask questions and offer suggestions.
The provost is both the chief academic and operating officer on campus. The committee will begin interviewing candidates the last week of may before delivering its recommendations to McRobbie.
