Indiana's Longest College President Steps Down
(HANOVER) - Ivy Tech Community College president Gerald Lamkin wore his traditional cap and gown one last time Sunday during his 249th commencement ceremony.
Lamkin was the featured speaker at Ivy Tech-Southeast's graduation ceremony at the Horner Center in Hanover. He awarded diplomas to graduates from the Madison, Lawrenceburg, and Batesville campuses.
Lamkin will step down as president on June 30th after spending about 40 years with the school. He is the longest standing current president of a public institution of higher education in Indiana.
