(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University School of Medicine leaders say they plan to add as many as one hundred new faculty members if the legislature agrees to fund the Indiana Life Sciences Initiative.
Med school Dean Craig Brater says he also plans to attract millions of dollars in research cash in just the first two years of the program.
The school is asking for $80-million dollars to fund the pilot stage of the initiative.
Brater hopes to create almost five hundred faculty research positions and generate more than two billion dollars in economic incentives for the state during the coming decade.
