(PRINCETON) - Governor Mitch Daniels is promoting his push for full-day kindergarten by visiting with school districts that already offer it.

Daniels met with students from Lowell North and South schools Tuesday in Princeton, saying the trip provided more insight into the benefits of full-day kindergarten.

Daniels says opponents of his plan remain convinced that the second half of the day will not produce real results. Daniels maintains he has seen 5-year-old students making educational gains late in the afternoon.

He says the trips are helpful in convincing wary state lawmakers to back his initiative.
