(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will be in Indianapolis today to discuss legislation he’s co-sponsoring to provide tax relief for families struggling with the growing costs of higher education.

Bayh's office says that over the last five years, average total tuition and fees have increased by 32 percent at private four-year colleges and universities, 57 percent at public four-year colleges and universities and 33 percent at public two-year colleges.

A recent report showed that college undergraduates are finishing school with an average of $19,300 dollars in student debt.
