(UNDATED) - Students at Crooked Creek Elementary School are getting a hands-on science lesson this week.

College of Science Outreach coordinators from Purdue University will work with students on projects that investigate the earthworm, discover the properties of milk, analyze dinosaur tracks, and study what factors affect the climate. It's all part of "Focus On Science Week."

Principal Mary Beth Reffett says the program aims developing young scientists and getting students excited about science and math. She says her school has been trying to enhance its science program and the Purdue program will add that enhancement.
