Last updated on Friday, January 26, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University scientists will work with researchers from Brown University to study a natural form of glue secreted by one type of bacteria.

Scientists say the substance made by caulobacter crescentus might be the strongest glue ever discovered.

The bacterium uses the substance to adhere itself to surfaces. It's capable of withstanding a stress of five tons per square inch.
