Purdue President At Odds With Spellings
(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue University President Martin Jischke says his beliefs are at odds with Education Secretary Margaret Spellings.
Jischke says Spellings' recent comments about major changes necessary to American colleges are alarmist. He adds that every school could make minor changes to improve the quality of education, but he thinks major overhauls could pose a greater danger.
Jischke also says a report authored by spellings got it wrong when it said the cost of higher education is too high.
