(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence Community Schools Board of Trustees Meeting was held last night.
Beginning the meeting the Bedford North Lawrence Girls Tennis Team was recognized for the exemplary season. Coach Chris Kurtz said he was very proud of the efforts of the team.
Meanwhile, Joint Service Director Mrs. Suzanne Terry reported to the board a questionnaire showing how students in the program faired for the 2005-2006 school year. She said there were no student was expelled for the entire school year. Over 800 students participated in the program.
Mrs. Nancy Lumley reported to the board the 2007 budgets for the general fund, debt service fund and other project funds. She gave the board members a folder with a line-by-line breakdown of the school budget.
Maintenance Director Mr. Steve Ritter reported on how construction on the elementary schools were going. He said the Fayetteville school was moving quite well. He said the gym is beginning to take shape and a plan to move the kids into the new school is being considered. He said the school should be completed by April of next year.
The board will meeting again on Monday, September 18th at the North Lawrence Community Schools Administration Building.
