(BLOOMINGTON) - A study group is convening this week to discuss the future of the Indiana University library system, focusing on the Bloomington campus.
Interim Dean of University Libraries Patricia Steele says the committee hopes to touch on issues ranging from the digital environment to the role that libraries will play in preservation.
I.U. Bloomington Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Michael McRobbie commissioned the review, which he hopes will help him identify the key issues facing the library system over the next decade.
He says the university should have a better idea of what role the library should play in the future, before the university undertakes the search for a permanent dean of libraries next fall.
