Team Working On World's Strongest Glue

Last updated on Thursday, April 13, 2006

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University researchers say they may have found the world’s strongest adhesive.

Bacteria which sticks to river rocks secrete a chemical so strong it can withstand thousands of pounds per square inch of force.

Researchers are trying to isolate the chemical and reproduce it. If they succeed, the world's glues may double or triple in strength.
