Goody's To Liquidate Assets
(KNOXVILLE, TN) - Knoxville, Tennessee based Goody’s Family Clothing has decided to give up the ghost, and will start liquidating all their assets.
The 55-year-old clothing chain declared bankruptcy last June closing around 70 stores, including their Bloomington location, but emerged from Chapter 11 in October of last year.
However, the Knoxville News-Sentinel reports that, just yesterday, Goody's officials said current economic conditions have prevented the company from raising sufficient capital to continue operation.
Goody's currently operates stores in Bedford, Seymour, Linton, Martinsville, and Jasper locally, and employs around 9,800 people nationwide, all of whom face the loss of their job.
