(TIPTON) - Several Indiana communities continue to feel the effects of the problems hitting the auto industry.

Work has stopped on the hulking factory building along US-31 where more than 1,000 people were expected to build transmissions.

Additionally, about 1,500 workers are on layoffs from Chrysler plants in Kokomo.

And GM Powertrain workers here in Bedford are watching auto bailout news, and waiting to see where those powertrain and stamping plant layoffs wind up landing.
