(SANTA CLAUS) - A Hoosier theme park in Santa Claus is unveiling plans for the “world’s tallest water ride.”

Spencer County's Holiday World & Splashin' Safari expects construction on its "Pilgrims Plunge" water ride to begin this fall and be completed by May 2009.

Park President Will Koch says the ride will be located in the Thanksgiving section of the park.

The ride is a "shoot the chute" ride. It will use an open elevator to lift boats of ten riders 135 feet into the air. The boats will then descend a record 131 feet at a 45-degree angle, creating a big splash when it drops. The ride will travel 50 miles per hour.

Construction of the ride will cost $8.4 million.
