Smoke Free "Casino Inside A Casino" Says French Lick
(FRENCH LICK) - French Lick Casino officials plan to make a larger portion of the gaming floor a smoke-free “casino inside a casino.”
The changes will also increase the casino floor by about 2,300 feet.
Indiana Gaming Commissioner Ernie Yelton says other casinos in Indiana have attempted changes to the smoke-free areas of a casino, but have not met with much success.
The changes at French Lick are part of ongoing construction that includes renovating the exterior of the riverboat casino to bring it closer to the exterior style of the nearby French Lick Springs Hotel.
The casino -- about 50 miles south of Bloomington -- opened in 2006 alongside a French Lick Springs hotel following a two-year, nearly $90-million dollar restoration.
