(FOWLER) - Northern Indiana will soon have the largest wind farm in the state, and it will deliver clean energy to around 200,000 homes.

Governor Mitch Daniels was among the first to sign a turbine blade that will later be used on the farm.

BP Alternative Energy North American and Dominion Resources are working together on this project.

Benton County Commissioner Mel Budreau says the wind farm will have an immediate and lasting impact on the county.

The two-phase project could be completed as early as next year. Benton County also has another wind farm near Earl Park.
