(INDIANAPOLIS) - It’s a program to encourage Hoosier businesses to give their employees a slice of the pie.

State Treasurer Richard Mourdock unveiled the IEI Thursday - Indiana's employee stock ownership program (or ESOP) initiative.

About 200 companies in Indiana let their employees have a piece of ownership. Mourdock is asking banks across the state to get involved and his office is investing $50 million into the effort.

The goal is to get more companies to keep business and jobs in the Hoosier state.
