(EVANSVILLE) - An Indianapolis group has formally announced it’s plans for a new four-star downtown hotel in Evansville with a big “if” attached.
Browning Investment Group Vice-President For Real Estate Development Jamie Browning says a key factor to building the hotel is the city's tentative plans for replacing Roberts Stadium. Browning says the hotel would be seven stories tall with about 250 rooms and it would be connected to the new arena or at least be in "close proximity" to it. That's the big "if."
If the city does not build the new downtown arena, Browning officials say the hotel will not be built, either. The project is estimated to cost $30-to-35-million-dollars.
