(UNDATED) - Hoosier companies that travel to meet the needs of their customers are joining the rest of us feeling pain at the pump.

The cost of hiring a professional plumber, housekeeper, or even dog walker is rising along with the price of gas.

Angie's List Founder Angie Hicks says it's time for consumers to get creative by coordinating services with your neighbors, so companies can lower the number of trips to a particular area.

Angie's List surveyed 1,900 service companies to gauge how it's affecting both sides of the service equation. 60% of businesses are passing costs on through fuel surcharges. Only 9% of their customers responded angrily to the higher bills.
