Allison Transmission, UAW Reach Tentative Deal

(UNDATED) - In these economic times when a lot of companies can’t come to agreement with union members, Allison Transmission has got a tentative five year deal with UAW local 93 and their 2200 workers.
Eric Dickerson with Allison Transmission calls it a huge deal for both the company and its employees.
The contract calls for no pay cuts or job reductions, annual performance bonuses, no reduction in health benefits, and lump sum yearly bonuses based on performance of the business.
Dickerson notes there are a lot of companies forced to make layoffs in the industry because of contract disputes. Negotiations began in mid January.
Allison transmission employees more than 3,300 workers in Central Indiana and several hundred overseas. It is a $2 billion dollar company located in Speedway that makes automatic transmissions for commercial duty equipment, like school buses.
