(UNDATED) - Governor Mitch Daniels is touring the southwestern part of the state, promoting his property tax relief package and additional jobs in Bloomington and Evansville.

In Bloomington, Daniels announced plans for an 80 million dollar expansion of Cook Pharmica by 2010. That would create 200 high-paying jobs in Bloomington.

The company is a division of Cook Medical and does contract manufacturing for drug companies. In Evansville, the governor announced an additional 150 telecommunications jobs at AT&T's new customer call center.

Daniels said it was a good day for Indiana's economy. He says the new jobs are in businesses the state has targeted for growth and diversification.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered both companies tax credits and training grants based upon their job creation plans.

The governor is also speaking to Chamber of Commerce groups in Bloomington, Terre Haute and Santa Claus, Indiana about his property tax relief package.

He says he's getting plenty of questions about the plan and taking away a good piece of advice at every session.
