(UNDATED) - In the pioneer days of personal computers, you had no choice but to design your own software. But now that’s come full circle.

A Carmel-based software development company, Web Tech One, launched the test version of their develop-it-yourself designer program aboard Microsoft's Across America event truck. Anyone can log on to the web and use the software for free until July fourth.

Kevin Cooke with Web Tech One says you can design programs that could supplement existing software or customize it for a unique task.

He says users will guide the development of the product during the test or beta phase. Then Cooke expects to offer it on a subscription basis.

To try it, log on to www.developityourself.com and walk through the process.
