Work Release Center Set To Open

Last updated on Monday, January 7, 2008

(CLARK COUNTY) - A new 150 bed work release center will open for business Monday in Clark County.

The center is for nonviolent prisoners sent by local courts and the state prison system.

Prison officials hope the $3-million dollar facility will do two things: help prisoners successfully make their way back into society, and relieve some of the pressures of overcrowding.

A $900,000 dollar grant from the state's department of correction will help pay the center's operating costs.
