(GAS CITY) - Amcast Automotive owes Grant County hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes, but just how much the county and gas city will receive is yet to be determined by a U.S. bankruptcy court.

Representing both the city and county in bankruptcy proceedings, Attorney Joe Certain says there are a total of about 400 creditors that the former wheel-making company owes and Grant County is one of its seven largest creditors.

Certain said the company didn't pay the county property taxes from 2003-06, making for about $900,000 in back taxes and penalties due to the county and city.

The company went bankrupt in 2005 and closed its Gas City plant the next year.
