(BOONVILLE) - Alcoa Incorporated is pressing state mining officials to release some of the reclamation bond money set aside for a Southern Indiana mine contaminated with toxic waste.

The state's division of reclamation will take up the company's request regarding the Squaw Creek mine at a January 3rd public hearing at the Boonville-Warrick County Public Library.

The Squaw Creek Mine Company is seeking a release of about $720,000 of the more than four million dollars in mine reclamation bond money currently being held by the state.
